Being influenced by the modernist Plug in city and with my mixed use functions within my site I wanted to explore how Stretford the town can work to serve the young people inhabiting it.

Reinforced concrete foundation strengthening the primary structure with a Pile foundation for the public hall when necessary
Roofing envelope consists mainly of timber strips and etfe cushions to harmonise with the surrounding structure
Primary structure is a lightweight construction. The frame will be made of glulam timber and for ease of construction it will be put together through joinery.
With the analysis of the sun path it was clear using this mesh as a tool to uniform and maximise the direct light penetration on all sides of the building would force the aperture of the mesh design to alter accordingly
There are north and south facing windows to allow plenty of natural light into the centre. On the southern glazing, solar control strategy must be implemented to deter solar glare. The glazing on each side forces the central circulation and garden triangle to be well illuminated.
