Structural system was chosen to celebrate and explore the possibilities of the grid clearly defining (internally and
externally)
specific individual areas
of the building, making clear connections with its micro relativity in connection with SPH and maco relativity with the size and provision of alternative spaces.
Development
Form was chosen to create a
ambient mini village where the internal circulation did not deter largely from original walkways space with adjacent forms opening upwards towards street, framing
and shaping this space
The structure primarily uses glulam beams and columns. This was a great material through my exploration of the joinery explorations which not only stood the test of heavy tension and strain but served as a thermally insulative material that served well acoustically weathering well in age.
