After reading Future Practice Conversations from the Edge of Architecture Book by Rory Hyde it became  apparent that for the surge towards the quality of the city as a whole rather than the acquisition of new projects to fuel the office forges a new era of civic responsibility and ethical entrepreneurialism. This led to the delivery of the building to take an altered turn by forcing materiality to be more than Juhani Pallasmaa’s oculacentric field but more a tactile navigation for all the senses.

 

This also had to be weighed with cost and construction which allowed me to explore the skills and techniques of joinery allowing for my affordable and environmentally friendly gulam timber frames to be easily recyclable and reusable in the event of a takedown process but also quick to be assembled onsite due to the Japanese joinery technique used.

 

The structural materiality proposes to the wider context a new way of circulation and inhabitancy of space where you the individual define your experience lastly by visuals.
